Ecology and Environment, IncLANCASTER, N.Y., April 24, 2015 – Ecology and Environment Inc. (E & E) (NASDAQ: EEI) has been awarded a $15,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic to provide base development planning and engineering services for Air Installations Compatible Use Zones (AICUZ) and Range Air Installations Compatible Use Zones (RAICUZ) studies.

E & E has completed more than 100 assignments for AICUZ, RAICUZ, and encroachment planning, providing technical support to the Navy on issues that are of acute importance to the future of mission readiness and sustainment. AICUZ plans include detailed analyses of aircraft noise, accident potential zones, land use compatibility, operational alternatives, and potential solutions to both existing and potentially incompatible land use problems. RAICUZ plans, developed for installations where training involves air-to-ground weapons delivery, quantify range safety and delineate strategies for lands affected by potential weapon and noise impacts.

“Through our extensive Navy project experience, we have been able to take a leadership role in assessing the impacts of emerging encroachment issues,” said E & E Vice President and Navy Practice Leader Mike Kane. “Our understanding of encroachment management, installation and community planning, and strategic outreach and partnering extends well beyond the conventional ways of thinking about these issues.”

The contract has a 60-month term, with an expected completion date in April 2020. Work will be performed in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, California, and the adjacent waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, including the continental United States, the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, and other areas worldwide.
